Stewpot Tears Kiwa Lagoon Apart While Half the Field Goes Missing

Tuesday 30 June 2026Matchday 14 Β· Kiwa Lagoon (Par 72)

There are weeks on the Wexford Tour where you sit in the stands, flask in hand, and wonder if some of these lads even own a set of clubs. Matchday 14 at Kiwa Lagoon gave us the full spectrum β€” a genuinely historic number at the top of the Premier Division, a Division 2 field that haemorrhaged no-shows like it was contagious, and a Division 3 leaderboard that's quietly becoming one of the more interesting battles on the whole tour. Let's get into it.

---

PREMIER DIVISION

Right, where do you even start. Stewpot shot -28 at Kiwa Lagoon. -28. I've watched a lot of golf in my time, and that number doesn't look real when you write it down. Twelve points, the H2H win over XXYXX13 β€” who himself shot a very respectable -24 β€” and he did it all with the kind of margin that makes the rest of the field look like they were playing a different course. Credit where it's due. That's an extraordinary round. You'd nearly tip your hat if you weren't still quietly fuming you weren't out there yourself.

Stando Cuz at -25 and TheDutchman101 at -24 were strong performances in their own right, but they were playing for second place from about the third hole. Stando Cuz picked up ten points and beat D. Geoghegan convincingly at -25 to -22, which keeps him ticking along nicely in the standings. TheDutchman takes a point off Rundownman in the standings race β€” now sitting ninth, one place ahead of RAYvenfanatic after the pair finished level on 2.5pts each. Small margins, but meaningful.

Now. daddyjules10 and Padraig1501. Both registered N/A. Both docked two points. In the same week that Stewpot shoots -28. Not a hope. You cannot be going missing on a week like this when the course is clearly playing scoreable. Jack-Mac21 and Conradius593 were there to beat them in the H2H by default, which is the most embarrassing kind of loss β€” losing to someone who didn't even need to break sweat. Poor stuff.

Rundownman sits top of the overall standings at 527 points but only managed -23 and six points here. Comfortable enough at the top for now, but iluvJEEZUS is breathing down his neck at 507. Neither of them are going to be resting easy.

DIVISION 1

BigJim_564 led the division with -20 and twelve points, beating Sirarchibal0803 in a H2H that wasn't close β€” -20 to -10. A ten-shot margin. That's not a contest, that's a walkover.

The three-way tie for second between TheCIABear, Wheelman, and plunk21 at -19 is the kind of result that makes the standings interesting. plunk21 stays top of the division on 218 points with TurnAndBurn69 just 1.5 behind at 216.5 β€” and TurnAndBurn shot -18 here and beat Threeroundb1st comfortably. That race is going to go to the wire and anyone who tells you otherwise is only codding themselves.

ArfaBubble drops a place to fourth after getting beaten -18 to -8 by halborn13. Losing by ten shots at home in your own division, that's the kind of result that lingers. PazzoWBA79, Alamo Kid, Benji23_150, and makaveli7196gh β€” four no-shows, two draws, zero points of substance between them. Ah here.

DIVISION 2

Nine no-shows in Division 2. Nine. On a par-72 course that was clearly producing low scores elsewhere on the tour. ElMaestro_jmg84, isosaku77, jimmyred147, Murfster08, Pingman300, Smithintime, Stikky4play β€” all docked two points. K1ngM0nr0e and Scruffydog99543 also absent, though they escape the full penalty. The division is carrying dead weight and it shows.

To the credit of those who did show up β€” HBwilliams led the way at -20, twelve points, and beat Poortybhoy convincingly in the H2H. Flaggy1981 at -19 and Holytattie at -18 were right behind. Holytattie remains top of the Division 2 standings at 343 points β€” a commanding lead over Flaggy1981 in second at 204.5. That gap is significant.

s0upj0el42o and DirtyBishop1 were the movers, both climbing two places to fourth and fifth respectively. Small shifts, but in a division this inconsistent, two places is real progress.

---

NEWCOMERS DIVISION

cfcgolf_ttv_yt leads the newcomers with -20 and twelve points. bjgolfer3324 shot -16 for ten points. Then there's MamasClunker β€” even par. E. On a week where the course was yielding scores in the twenties below par, even par earned nine points purely by virtue of three players not turning up. AppleWifi, DakotaB23, and KineBuds all registered N/A. cfcgolf_ttv_yt now sits on 72 points in the standings, which is a healthy enough lead, but there are very few datapoints yet to draw any real conclusions. We'll see how that holds up as the field builds.

---

DIVISION 3

This is the one I've been keeping half an eye on. Admosis shot -10, took twelve points, beat both daveklim in the H2H and Hauss_77 who didn't show. That's a fine day's work. DanLovett85 climbed to the top of the Division 3 standings on 146 points with a -8 and ten points, nudging Hoplinkz off the summit β€” and Hoplinkz only shot -2 here, which isn't going to hold anyone off.

That gap between first and second is just two points β€” 146 to 144. Pilsner23 in third on 127, getting beaten by Hoplinkz in the H2H this week despite not turning up. Losing when you're absent is one thing. Losing when you're a no-show to someone who only shot -2 is a whole other level of unfortunate. Seven no-shows in Division 3 as well, by the way. The absenteeism across this tour is becoming a pattern worth watching.

---

STAT INSIGHT

The scoring gap between first and last in the Premier Division this week was seventeen shots β€” Stewpot at -28, sk22underthehill at -6. That's not a tight field, that's two completely different rounds of golf on the same course. And in Division 2, nine of the registered players failed to submit a score. That's a participation rate that should concern anyone looking at the health of that division going forward.

---

CLOSING THOUGHT

Stewpot shoots -28 and half the tour doesn't bother showing up. That's Matchday 14 in a nutshell, really. The course was clearly there to be attacked β€” the scores at the top across every division prove it. The gap between those who showed up ready and those who didn't isn't just a scoreboard problem. It's a commitment problem. And -28 deserves a better backdrop than a field full of N/As.

Still. At least someone came to play.
