About

What is the Team Event?

The Team Event is the Wexford Tour's flagship team competition. Selected players are assigned to a national side, representing a country in the competition.

Unlike the individual season or Champions League, the Team Event is all about collective performance. Your score contributes directly to your country's result in each fixture. There's no bench. Every player on a matchday is fighting for points.

The competition runs as a full round-robin group stage. Every team plays every other β€” the best sides earn their spot in the knockout stage, where ties are played in a Ryder Cup format (Foursomes, Fourballs & Singles) until one country lifts the Team Event Rings.

The Silver Iron

Personal accolade

The Silver Iron is an individual award, separate from the team competition. It goes to the player with the highest individual win percentage across all their matchups in the tournament β€” the most consistent head-to-head performer, regardless of which country they play for.

How It Works

Country Assignment

Selected players are assigned to a national side at the start of each competition. Countries compete as a unit. When your team plays, you play.

Tiers & Matchups

Each team has five players ranked Tier 1 to Tier 5, with T1 being the captain. In the group stage, same-tier players face off. Win your head-to-head, earn points for your country.

Matchplay Scoring

Fixtures are scored by the matchday leaderboard positions of each paired player. Lower position (better performance) wins the matchup.

Group Stage

Every country plays every other in a full round-robin. Win = 3 pts, Draw = 1.5 pts, Loss = 0 pts. The top sides qualify for the knockout stage.

Knockout Stage

Knockout ties use a Ryder Cup format: Day 1 Foursomes & Fourballs, Day 2 Singles β€” 13 points per tie, first to 7 wins. The last team standing lifts the Rings.

Team Event Rings

The Rings are awarded to the winning country at the end of the tournament. Every player on that squad earns a ring, the Tour's most coveted team honour.

Silver Iron

A personal accolade run alongside the team competition. The player with the best win percentage across all their individual matchups wins the Silver Iron.
