Rundownman Tears Bluffer Bay Apart While the No-Shows Pile Up

There was a time when you'd come to Bluffer Bay and expect a tight leaderboard, a few steady rounds, and maybe one or two surprises. Matchday 12 gave us none of that restraint. What it gave us instead was Rundownman going absolutely berserk at the top of the Premier Division while half the tour couldn't even be bothered to tee it up. A story of extremes, then. As per usual around here.

PREMIER DIVISION

Let's get straight to it. Rundownman shot -37 at a par 70 and walked away with 12 points and a head-to-head win over iluvJEEZUS who, to his credit, posted -34 and still got beat. That's the kind of week where you just tip your cap and move on. -37 is not a number you throw away lightly on this tour. He's sitting on 520 points in the standings now, and nobody's getting near him if he keeps this up. Grounded praise is all he gets from me — but fair play, that was a serious round of golf.

imtrippin at -31 for 9 points and a win over TheDutchman101 is worth a mention too. Solid. Stando Cuz and beardedbreaux tied at -30 and split the points evenly — no complaints there, both earned their keep.

Now. Padraig1501. Null. N/A. Minus two points. In the Premier Division. Against Manzanas87 who only shot -25. That's not a particularly dazzling score either, and yet it was enough to bank a win by default. There's no other way to say it — if you're in the top flight and you're handing out free wins, you're only codding yourself. The standings didn't shift this week, but if that keeps happening, they will.

andy7hoops at -15 in the Premier Division is a different kind of problem. He showed up, which is something. But -15 on a card where the winner posted -37? Austin beat him -27 to -15, and that's a hiding, not a result. Thirteen points separate them in that matchup. That's poor stuff now.

DIVISION 1

TheCIABear leads this week's Division 1 card with -28 and 12 points. He beat ChrisG1987 convincingly — -28 to -20 — and shot himself up to fourth in the standings. plunk21 is still breathing down TurnAndBurn69's neck at the top, just five points back after another strong week. That title race is very much alive.

Five players failed to show in Division 1 this week — Alamo Kid, War Eagle 1910, Benji23_150, PazzoWBA79, and Wheelman. That's not a no-show, that's a protest. The_Milkman_Bot beat Threeroundb1st -24 to -10 in the most lopsided result of the division — a fourteen-shot gap in a matchup that should've been competitive. Threeroundb1st needs to find something, and fast.

DIVISION 2

DirtyBishop1 takes the week in Division 2 with -21 and 12 points. Decent round, deserved winner. TAGROCKET at -19 edged out ElMaestro_jmg84 by a single shot — the narrowest win of the entire matchday across all divisions. One shot. That'll either galvanise or haunt ElMaestro_jmg84 depending on what kind of character he has.

In the standings, Holytattie sits on 317 points and is in a different postcode to everyone else in this division. Flaggy1981 is second on 179.5. That's a 137.5-point gap. At matchday 12. Ah here. Meanwhile, four no-shows — jimmyred147, Murfster08, Pingman300, and Smithintime — all take -2 penalties. Four of them. In one division. In one week. That's a pattern, not a coincidence.

NEWCOMERS DIVISION

cfcgolf_ttv_yt continues to run away with this division — 12 points this week, 48 in the standings. That's a commanding lead. What's more notable is what's below him. DakotaB23 and KineBuds both failed to show and are now in negative territory. In the Newcomers Division. It doesn't set a great precedent, does it?

DIVISION 3

The Division 3 standings are fascinating right now. Pilsner23 climbed two places to joint-top on 124 points, level with Hoplinkz, with DanLovett85 dropping two to third on 123. Three players separated by one point at the top of the table. That's as tight as it gets.

Admosis won the division this week with -19 and absolutely dismantled fatjimley78 in their head-to-head — -19 to -8. Eleven shots. fatjimley78 barely turned up to that contest. Robbie-10-76 shot +5 on the day, which is the only positive score across all five divisions this matchday. A par 70 and he's five over. That's a number that stays with you.

STAT INSIGHT

Across all five divisions this matchday, there were seventeen no-show penalties handed out. Seventeen. That's a staggering level of non-participation for a single matchday — and collectively those absences are reshaping standings, gifting wins to players who didn't earn them, and dragging down the competitive integrity of the whole exercise. Someone in the tour office needs to be having a quiet word.

On the other end of the scale, the Premier Division top three this week — -37, -34, and -31 — is the highest collective scoring we've seen in quite a while at Bluffer Bay. The course played soft, or these lads were simply in the zone. Either way, those are numbers that demand respect.

CLOSING THOUGHT

Bluffer Bay handed out a few extraordinary scores this week and exposed a few more players who'd rather not be found. That's what the game does eventually — it finds you out. The standings at the top of Division 3 are going down to the wire, Division 2 looks like a one-horse race, and Rundownman in the Premier Division is starting to look untouchable. Starting to, I said. There's still time for things to go sideways, and they usually do on this tour. I'll be watching.
