There are weeks on the Wexford Tour where one number just sits there and dares you to explain it. skyline_time513 posted -34 at Longcraston Golf Club on Matchday 16. Par 70. Minus thirty-four. That's not a round of golf, that's a demolition job. Twelve points collected, the H2H against the absent Manzanas87 wrapped up before anyone had even finished their pre-round coffee. You could argue the no-show handed him an easy win, but -34 doesn't need a soft matchup to justify itself. That score would've lapped the field in most divisions on any given week. Filed away under "not normal."

PREMIER DIVISION

Behind the spectacle at the top, Rundownman put in a serious shift with -30 and ten points, beating beardedbreaux head-to-head in the process. He leads the standings on 555 points and he's doing it the right way — showing up, scoring well, taking points. No drama. That's the sort of consistency that wins things. daddyjules10 and Austin both carded -29 and split the 8.5 points between them, and both picked up H2H wins — daddyjules10 absolutely dismantling XXYXX13, who limped in at -9. That's a 20-shot gap in a H2H matchup. Poor stuff, that.

Speaking of which — XXYXX13 at -9 on a par 70. Not a hope of competing at this level with that kind of number. sk22underthehill went -15 and still lost by 12 to D. Geoghegan. There's a trend forming there that needs addressing. As for Manzanas87 and Padraig1501, both no-shows taking -2 penalty points apiece. Stewpot gets a null as well, though at least he avoids the financial hit — small mercies. RAYvenfanatic didn't set the world alight at -25, but he didn't need to with Stewpot's name beside his in the draw.

iluvJEEZUS sits second in the overall standings on 520 points, and he'll be quietly satisfied with a -22 and a walkover win against the absent Padraig1501. The gap to Rundownman at the top is 35 points. Not insurmountable, but it won't close itself.

DIVISION 1

The_Milkman_Bot went out and shot -26 to take 12 points and beat TurnAndBurn69 by eight shots in the H2H. Funnily enough, TurnAndBurn69 still leads Division 1 on 232.5 points despite the loss and a -18 that would've been respectable in almost any other week. That's the benefit of a season's worth of banked points — one poor matchday doesn't undo it.

Sirarchibal0803 carded -25 and claimed ten points, beating the no-show ChrisG1987 into the bargain. ArfaBubble and Wheelman both shot -24 and split 8.5 points, with Wheelman also getting the walkover against the absent halborn13. Five no-shows in Division 1 this week — Alamo Kid, AnGrY_518, Benji23_150, ChrisG1987, and halborn13 — all taking -2 points. That's a fifth of the division not bothering to tee it up. Ah here.

The draw threw up a curiosity too — AnGrY_518 and Benji23_150 both no-showed against each other. A draw recorded, no points earned, -2 each. Only codding themselves at this stage.

DIVISION 2

cfcgolf_ttv_yt took the division win with -24 and 12 points, beating Flaggy1981 head-to-head despite Flaggy shooting -20 herself — that's a decent round that still left her four back. Murfster08 went -21 for ten points, and Flaggy1981 still picks up 9 points and holds second in the standings on 228.5 points. But Holytattie at the top of Division 2 is a different conversation entirely. She sits on 365 points — that's 136.5 clear of Flaggy in second. At this stage of the season, that gap is close to unassailable. She shot -18 today and picked up the no-show win against ElMaestro_jmg84 for good measure.

Six no-shows in Division 2 as well, with jimmyred147, K1ngM0nr0e (null, no penalty), ElMaestro_jmg84, isosaku77, Pingman300, and Stikky4play all absent. That's a messy week for the division admin, I'd imagine.

DIVISION 3

Admosis won the division with -19 and 12 points, but the headline here is the H2H result against smestudio563662: -19 versus -1. One under par on the full round. On a par 70. There's nothing more to say about that except it must be addressed before the next matchday. YesImRob carded -18 and doubled that result against daveklim in the H2H — -18 versus -9. HunkerDownHound beat GolfGriffin -17 to -1, so GolfGriffin can reflect on a -1 alongside smestudio563662 as the low watermark of the week across all divisions.

In the standings, Hoplinkz leads on 158 points but only by 3.5 over DanLovett85 — and today's H2H was a nice win for Hoplinkz, who beat DanLovett85 -10 to -9. A tight matchup, tight standings. That one could go either way before the season's out.

NEWCOMERS DIVISION

bjgolfer3324 shot -22 to take 12 points — comfortably the best score in the division and a statement round. AppleWifi went -13 for ten points and MamasClunker shot -7 for nine. In the standings though, MamasClunker still leads on 50 points despite finishing third today. bjgolfer3324 is just behind on 47. DakotaB23 and KineBuds both no-showed and sit on -16 and -18 points respectively in the standings. At some point, you've got to wonder why they entered at all.

STAT INSIGHT

The combined no-show count across all divisions this week was nineteen. Nineteen. Some of those accumulate -2 penalties, some sit at zero, but the pattern is becoming a talking point in itself. The players who do show up — particularly the consistent scorers like Rundownman, Holytattie, and TurnAndBurn69 — are pulling further clear of those who can't be relied upon to tee it up. That's how standings gaps form and calcify. The absentees are essentially gifting points to the field every time they don't show.

The gap between first and second in the Premier Division stands at 35 points. iluvJEEZUS needs to win weeks and hope Rundownman slips. He hasn't slipped much so far. That's the awkward truth of it.

-34 at Longcraston. Thirty-four under par. I've watched a lot of golf in my time — more than most, if I'm being honest — and I know that course. I know what it asks of you on a decent day. skyline_time513 made it look like a pitch and putt. Whether he can sustain that is another question entirely. They always come back to the field eventually. But for one Tuesday at Longcraston, he was playing a game the rest of them couldn't find with a map.
