HEADLINE: No-Shows Hand Out Free Points While imtrippin Finally Shows Up

Ah here, what a shambles this week turned out to be. You'd think after eighteen rounds of this carry-on, lads would know to actually show up and post a score. But no — we had more no-shows than a Sunday morning Mass in January, and the damage to some decent players was brutal to watch.

Premier Division

Let's start with the one bit of good news: imtrippin finally remembered how to play golf and fired a gorgeous -36 to take the week. About time too — he's been letting 404Error and Rundownman make him look like a mug for weeks now. Course, 404Error decides this is the perfect week to go missing entirely, handing over a -2 penalty that could cost him dearly. That's poor stuff from someone sitting pretty at the top. Rundownman capitalized nicely with -31, but skyline_time513 was the real story with -35. Where did that come from? He's been consistent but never spectacular — suddenly he's breathing down everyone's neck.

The middle of the table was a right mess. vandyman96 edged The-Dutchman-101 by just one shot in what must've been a nervy finish, while Jack-Mac21 made light work of andy7hoops. But what's TurnAndBurn69 doing down there with -18? That's Championship material, not Premier stuff.

Division 1

Austin continues his relentless march toward promotion with another clinical -28. The man's a machine — 416.5 points and counting. He made plunk21 look ordinary in their head-to-head, which tells you everything about the gulf in class. daddyjules10 stayed in touch with -27, but that's still nearly 200 points behind Austin. Not a hope of catching him now.

The real entertainment was watching makaveli7196gh somehow manage a +6. Plus six! On this course! Asthmatic Cat must've thought Christmas had come early with that draw. That's the sort of collapse that gets you relegated, and rightfully so.

Division 2

Stewpot took the week with -26, but he's got DataPoint775 breathing down his neck in the standings. The gap's only 69 points now — that's nothing over the remaining rounds. DirtyBishop1 and BigJim_564 both posted -25, which is proper golf, but they've left themselves too much work to do for promotion.

Speaking of work to do — War Eagle 1910 absolutely demolished smestudio563662 with -23 versus -1. That's not golf, that's a public service announcement about what happens when you phone it in.

Newcomers Division

Only three lads bothered showing up, and RowdyGentleman92 made the most of it with -26. Flaggy1981 still leads the division by a mile, but at least someone's making him sweat a bit. HunkerDownHound managed -4 for third place, which says everything about the standard here.

The numbers don't lie this week — consistency beats brilliance, but showing up beats everything. 404Error and Stando Cuz learned that the hard way, while imtrippin reminded everyone what he's capable of when he puts his mind to it. Course, knowing him, he'll probably follow this up with something dreadful next week. That's golf for you.
